T. C. W. Blanning
Timothy C. W. Blanning, FBA (born 1942) is currently Professor of Modern European History at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College. His scholarly work focuses on the history of Continental Europe from the 17th century to the beginning of the First World War.
His most recent book, The Triumph of Music in the Modern World, which examines why music has progressed from subordinate status in the early modern period to its present position of supremacy among the creative arts, will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2008.
